Nostalgia is a feeling of sentimental longing for the past. It's a bittersweet mix of fondness and sometimes sadness as you remember times gone by. It can be sparked by things like:
Personal memories: Thinking back to happy moments from childhood, past relationships, or special occasions.
Objects: Seeing old toys, photographs, clothes, or other items that trigger memories.
Places: Returning to a hometown or a place you used to visit often.
Sounds or smells: Hearing a familiar song or catching a whiff of a scent that reminds you of a specific time.
Nostalgia is more than just an exhibit; it's an experience. It's a chance to reconnect with the simple joys of the past, to celebrate the moments that shaped who we are. It's a reminder that the most precious things in life are often the most ordinary ones, and that the magic of memory lies in its ability to transport us back to a time when the world felt a little brighter, a little simpler, and a lot more like home.
Serendipity Studio extends this invitation to visual artists desiring to participate in the “Nostalgia” call for art. We host a variety of art calls throughout the year, and encourage you to consider all of them. Best of Show & People’s choice award winners have a chance to win cash prizes. To participate, please do the following:
Submissions are open to artists of all levels, backgrounds, and ages.
Each artist may submit up to 8 pieces for consideration.
Submitted artwork must align with the theme of Nostalgia
Artwork should be original and not infringe upon any copyrights.
Please provide a brief artist statement with each submission, explaining how your work relates to the theme.
Digital submissions should be high-resolution images (300 dpi) in JPEG or PNG format. Please resize to 1920 pixels along the longest side.

Clearly identify each image with title, medium, size, and retail price
Do NOT just simply include a link to your website/Instagram/Facebook, etc.

If you are selected, you will be emailed a contract further explaining the terms of the agreement. The costs associated with the call are a $25 fee per piece that is selected, unless you are an Associate Artist of the gallery, in which case your fee will reflect your agreement level. The gallery retains a 25% commission from all sales during the exhibit, unless the artists have an existing Associate Artist agreement.
