Dearest Kim

"As a child, Kim would spend countless hours drawing inspired by Anime & Manga; cartoons; and the beauty of the world. The name Dearest Kim was inspired by the signature that Kim used on her notes when she was younger. After writing the letter, she would then fold them in origami hearts and pass them around to her friends (before texting became popular). As Kim grew up, she stopped drawing.  Despite being naturally creative, Kim didn't have the opportunity to fully nurture and explore her artistic talents.

Until 2022, Kim had become mentally burnt out from work, prompting her to pick up a paintbrush. From that moment on, she never looked back. Kim is an artist who has taught herself her craft. Her artwork can be described as whimsical, colorful, and expressive. When she first started painting, she challenged herself to work solely on black canvas. Now, Kim has tried various size canvas and techniques and variations of acrylics (neon, metallic etc.).

Not only does she challenge herself for her own growth, but she also strives to give back to the community. Kim is also an Art as Therapy facilitator, utilizing art to aid youth in mental health awareness,  and has donated art pieces to raise funds for local causes, contributing to her community in multiple ways. Also, Kim wants to teach more art classes at Serendipity studios. Kim expresses gratitude for the welcoming and growing Sioux Falls community, actively supporting fellow local artists in their endeavors."
