Kintsugi
This image is an illustration from my latest published collection of Horror poetry, and it's a play on kintsugi. Kintsugi is the Japanese art of taking broken ceramics and piecing them back together with golden or silver lacquer. The idea is creating something new and beautiful out of something old and broken. I applied this concept to humans; we are sometimes broken, maimed, and/or damaged, yet we yearn for an individual or people to be a "Dr. Frankenstein" and help piece us back together, making us into something new and resilient.
