Haystacks In The Afternoon

After spending two summers in Montana, baling round and square bales of hay, I moved back to Colorado. On a drawing exhibition in Fort Collins, I came upon some cone shaped bales in a field and I sat down to draw the scene. This painting was inspired by the landscape that day and by the artist, Vincent Van Goh’s, painting “Haystacks”, which he painted in France.
