Has It’s Luck Run Out?
This photograph is of a horseshoe that was nailed to a barn in Nebraska. As you can see, the horseshoe has been there for some time, as the iron is starting to scale and bubble. The wood has even absorbed some of the color from the rust slowly running down.
Horsehoes are a symbol of luck. When the horseshoe is hung with the points facing down, it is supposed to “shower” the home (or barn) with good luck.
