Eileen Halverson

Rural Day County near Webster, I grew up on my parents farm, that my grandfather homesteaded in 1888. Mikel and Olga Loken came from Hemsedal in the Hallingdal valley, therefore the Hallingdal style of Rosemaling is my favorite. I also paint in Telemark and OS. I have studied a little in several other styles. My studies have been with VGM rosemaling teachers and Norwegian ones at Vesterheim. I also was awarded a grant from the SD Arts council in 2021.  Currently you will find me at the Old Court House Museum once a month and teaching classes in the summer.
