American Eagle

"American Eagle" This piece is done in acrylic on a preserved sycamore leaf. The preservation of the leaf in glycerin creates an almost leather like feel to the leaf.

I can remember when the Bald Eagle became an endangered species in our country a not so long ago, 20-30 years ago with the use of toxic pesticides.

It is so wonderful how the population of this majestic bird has come back so that our children can enjoy the beautiful site of an eagle soaring across the sky that was almost lost.
