Always Growing: Memento Mori

"Always Growing" is a continuous series of paintings by artist Alex Lunstra. This is a series of abstract self-portraits; each portrays the artist through various trials & emotions.

"Memento Mori" embodies the strong emotions of a daughter, watching her mother move from in home hospice to a hospice care center... A place more equipped to take care of the person, who once was the caretaker, but now a terminal cancer patient.

At times, it felt like giving up, while at the same time.... feelings of acceptance & relief of burden.

Whatever "Memento Mori" strikes within the viewer, know she is here to help process & release heavy emotions.

Death is not the end, but part of the cycle. With art, and life - we must remember to trust the process.
